I think the players of yesteryear some are hurting.

I am trying to get the young players to remember the past.  They don,t rebmember the past.  They are standing on our shoulders...

Older players don't have savings, we owe it to them.  They made the game what it is today.

There are alot of great players that made the league what it is...  We, as older players, need to educate...

We have to publicize more.  I would love the NFL to educate the new players with on the history of the game and the older players.  This would be very simple to do...

The NFL owners and NFLPA needs to do more.  I would like to see a time where the Gridiron Greats will not be needed because the league will be handling it.  It is their responsibility.  If those owners would help those that helped us.. Why can't this happen?

"I am Third" still holds the "place of honor" out of all my books.  I am not, what you would call, financially solvent, to the point where I can donate funds.  But, I am a nurse and can damn sure donate my nursing services, to those in my area, who need them, and I just wrote Gridiron Greats an email, telling them so.  Please don't limit the scope of your appeals to those directly involved or with a previous involvement with football.  Appeal to all the areas that you need help with....assisted living facilities, nurses, doctors, physical therapists, etc.  Some of us may not be able to donate money, but we damn sure can donate services and time.  It's the very least we can to do for those who gave us sooooooo very much!
