It is incredible in one year what has happened. We have been gaining momentum with this cause.

Everybody has had fun this week, but more importantly, we are spreading the word.  People understand the cause and they are sensitive to the cause, this makes a huge difference.  It is a just cause, we all know this.

This is somehting that we have taken upon ourselves, because the people who should have not.  The Gridiron Greats are providing stuff for men in dire need, and many of these men define the term "dire need."

We are not going to stop putting the pressure on and spreading the word.

Since the Washington event last September, Harry Reed continues going to go to the NFL and force them to come up with some facts.  We are continuing to put on the pressure.

Nobody wants to get Congress involved, but we have to.  Lets get these men taken care of and if it takes the Senate or Congress to do this, we will do it.  We are trying to cut through the red tape which is hard to do with the NFL.  They have made it nearly impossible for these men to get the benefits they deserve.  The system is broken and needs to be fixed.  We are trying to fix it.

We have talked about having about 4 golf tournaments throughout the year strategically positioned throughout the nation.  With support from the players, we can get people, more people.

Thanks for all the support from the players, the fans, and the members of the foundation.  It is a great cause and everyone has done a wonderful job making this happen.

    Dear Mr. Ditka,

I am a 51 yr old retired NYC Fireman who was involved in the 9/ 11 tragedy we incurred going on 7 years ago. Iwas there when both buildings came down and in so I lost nearly thirty people I knew. I say this because I was lucky to survive and now Im living off a comfortable pension. However when I see the conditions that many of your friends are living through right now it hurts me to the core. Ithink you are a gret guy a true human being and I promise to help your cause in any way I can. I always tell my wife if there was one guy I would love to have a beer with it would be you. Please keep up your  great work and again I promise to help you in your cause in any way I can.

                                   Thank You and God Bless

    Coach:

I read about this organization and think it is wonderful that you are standing with and standing up for these men.   The owners and players who are reaping such great economic benfits today stand on the shoulders of the retired players, and those players deserve better.  As a lifelong NFL fan, I hope my contribution can help these players, who have given my family countless hours of entertainment over the years (even Dallas Cowboys, who have stuck it to my Giants from time to time over the years).

Coach,  i can't tell you how much of a great thing this is you are doing.  i just wrote a check to be earmarked for Mr DeMarco.  His story just touched me deeply and i will never be able to look at the NFL the same way again.  I think while we are preparing to watch the league's biggest specticle tomorrow (2-3-08), we should all take a moment to remember those who gave their bodies and their souls to a league and a union that don't give a damn about them now.  Keep doing God's work coach.

    Dear Mike Ditka,

I listened--with a whole lot of interest--to Jerry Kramer's interview on the Mike North not long ago about the fund that helps NFL players.

His interview touched me in a personal way, because I know these are the very same NFL players who were so darn good, I was hypnotized by the games they played every week. These are the guys who were my heroes. Gridiron Greats all the way.

So why am I writing to you now, now that I'm (ha ha, "aIl grown up")? Because I know I can help you raise a lot of money for the funs.

    "Yeah, sure," you're saying.

    Seriously. For sure.

Here's where I'm coming from: I've been in business on my own for about 15 years, and I've been lucky enough to help other people sell some $100 million of their stuff.

I've got an idea or two--no bull-- on how to generate some serious cash flow--not occasional donations or auction proceeds--into the fund, using what I've done along with new techniques to do it.

Seriously, I keep an eye on my karma: this ain't no hussle.

Please give this some thought. It would be great to help out.

    Sincerely,

    Peter
